DRACO Creates a Request for Proposals and Manages the Review Process for $40,000 SHARPhub Proof of Concept Seed Fund

Project Deliverables and Outcomes

Strategic Planning

DRACO is working closely with USD’s Technology Transfer Officer, Beth Lambeth, to build relationships between USD’s Inventors, graduate students, and the Office of Research to create a supportive culture of technology commercialization on the USD campus.

Inventor Meetings

Each academic inventor has different aspirations, goals, and motivations. DRACO met with many of USD’s inventors to understand their technology and their attitudes towards commercialization. Through close collaboration with the Technology Transfer Office, we created technology development and commercialization reports for each individual inventor.

Project Management

USD is South Dakota’s representative institution for the regional Sustainable Heartland Accelerator Regional Partnership (SHARP) Hub. DRACO was hired to write a request for proposals for a $40,000 proof of concept seed grant offered by SHARPhub to South Dakota biotechnology and life science researchers. We managed the process of soliciting and vetting proposals and establishing the review committee and scoring rubric.
